Our Canasta Story

CanastaMatch was conceived after my wife and I learned to play the Modern American Canasta game in 2023.  Following the lessons, we had a difficult time finding other people to play MAC within our city or within a reasonable driving distance. We thought if it was difficult for us living in a populous city like Scottsdale AZ, that other MAC players and players of other versions of Canasta, like Hand and Foot, could also be experiencing the same problem.  If you check popular Canasta FB group site, you will notice hundreds of people seeking others to play Canasta.

We decided to address this problem by developing a comprehensive, reasonably priced, $20 per year, Canasta Community Website. This community is called CanastaMatch.  The CanastaMatch mission is to connect and match people living across the United States and Canada with other players to play Canasta both in-person and online. In 1Q 2026, an online Canasta game will be launched called CanastaMatch Play. CanastaMatch member may upgrade their membership to play on the site. When available, Players who subscribe to CanastaMatch may play the CanastaMatch Play game in an unlimited manner in Solo (or individual mode against competitive bots) or with their friends and family who are also members of CanastaMatch. Initially, the Modern American Canasta game will be available. There are plans to add Hand and Foot and Samba versions of the game in 2026.
